Appeals Attorney Andy Clark

Experience and Background

Atlanta-Appeals-Attorney-Andy-ClarkI’ve been an attorney for fourteen years. For three of those years, I was a professor of Legal Research and Writing at Tulane Law School. I’ve also been an attorney at two of the largest law firms in the country, Greenberg Traurig (in Atlanta) and Seyfarth Shaw (in Chicago), where I practiced litigation. I handled high-profile appeals for Fortune 500 clients in which millions of dollars were at stake. In 2014, I launched my own law firm, Andy Clark Law, to focus on civil appeals and criminal appeals.

I’m a 2001 graduate of the University of Chicago Law School—ranked #4 in the country by U.S. News & World Report—where I was selected as a member of the Law Review. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Rice University in 1998. I grew up in Alpharetta, was the STAR Student at Marist School, and now live in Atlanta with my wife Shannon, son Charlie, and daughter Willa.

Why Choose Me?

Appeals Lawyer Dedicated to Your Case

Winning an appeal is not like winning a trial. Trial lawyers depend on their ability to think on their feet and to connect emotionally with jurors. On appeal, lawyers need a different set of skills. Success on appeal depends on the ability to research and analyze complex legal issues, and to write a convincing argument called a brief that will persuade the appeal judges. There is no jury in a court of appeals.

As a former professor of Legal Research and Writing, and a Law Review member at the #4 law school in the country, I have the kind of skills you need to win your appeal.

Fresh Perspective

Sometimes, it helps on appeal to have the new perspective of a different lawyer. I wasn’t involved in your case in the trial court. I can give you an independent opinion of whether the trial court committed reversible error and what the best arguments are for or against an appeal. Although I always want to work together with the lawyers who handled your case in the trial court, I can offer a fresh approach.
